Pearl Iese

In Hawaii, “talk-story” originated from our rich oral tradition of passing down ideas, knowledge, genealogy and building connections with others through story-telling. My goal as a mental health provider is to create a safe space where clients can share their story and begin their healing journey. I take a person-centered approach to counseling, meaning that I will be an empathetic facilitator providing encouragement and support to you as we go through the process of self-discovery and uncover hurts and what you may need to heal. Family plays a significant role in our culture and personal identity. Sometimes the most hurtful experiences are caused (unknowingly or knowingly) from those closest to us. Attachment-based theory looks at the connection between infants and their attachment experiences with primary caregivers. I love working with clients and exploring their relationships with family members, friends, and other people who have made a significant impact in their lives. As we explore our connections with others, we can identify healthy and unhealthy emotional relationship patterns and work together to create healthy connections. I also incorporate CBT to provide coping skills and strategies to help resolve daily challenges like depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, communication issues, stress, and anger issues.

I am an Oahu native who loves to go to the beach, check out the newest restaurant or food truck, vibing at concerts to support local music, camping, cooking, baking, going to the gym, and hanging out with my husband and our cat.

Pearl sees clients in our Hawaii office and via telehealth.
